I am excited that the word is spreading about Giving Hands - giving to those in need. Our first on-line connection is planning to send some items she recently completed. I can't wait!

I am waiting to hear some feedback from the Nelson Crisis Pregnancy Centre after delivering a large bag of goodies to Mary {my contact there}.

One of our ladies has been very busy making slippers to be given to Stepping Stones {a local shelter}.

I personally am challenging myself by learning some new stitches.

Next get-together for Giving Hands - Feb. 18/10 in the Fireside Room.

Hi Everyone: Just wanted to say thank you for all the items you have created already and it's only the middle of January. Today's total for Jan. alone is as follows: burping pads - 2; baby socks - 3 pairs; baby washclothes - 5; stroller blankets - 6; regular sized baby blankets - 2; child's hat - 1; adult toque and mittens set - 1; adult slippers - 5 pairs; scarves - 6 and 1 cowl!

As soon as we can get the items for the Crisis Pregnancy centre tagged, etc. the bag will be donated to them.

Please remember if you use any wool or wool combos - include a note for me to say what the wool content is so that it can be clearly marked.

We have been busy getting ready for a delivery to the Crisis Pregnancy Centre {before Feb. 1st}. It is wonderful to see and hear the enthusiasm of everyone as we work together for the cause. This gives us a great chance to challenge ourselves to try out new yarns and patterns. Also, there is a lot of chatter around the meeting table as we share our stash, ideas and patterns. No matter how you look at it, we have a great time being a part of GIVING HANDS.
